YAYA GOU

Urban Designer-Cornell MS.AUD'24

This portfolio shows my exploration of architecture, urban design and data visualization.

I believe that the real first impression of a city is formed not just from the architecture, but also from the subtle humidity and temperature changes brought by different geographic locations, the smells wrapped up in the air, and the background thrum of crowds.

In light of this, I started an academic trajectory that would center not only engineering infrastructure, but also the intricate interplay of ecology, participation of citizens, art, and social context.

From architecture to urban design, I am looking to conduct design in a larger scale and more complex scenarios, to respond to the current issues, use knowledge to reconcile ourselves with the history, and present a future, a shared future.
